Help Sponsor Tyler's Dream....

Tyler, an eighth-grader at Brandywine Heights Middle School, is an honor roll student who loves skiing, hanging out with friends, rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and listening to his favorite bands, Boston and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

And oh, by the way, Tyler has only one foot....

...Tyler has also joined the youth racing team at Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Longswamp Township, where he trains alongside several dozen able-bodied teammates...

...Taking the next step, and becoming a full-time member of the ski team at the National Sports Center for the Disabled in Winter Park, Colo., would cost $35,000 a year, but Edward Carter said he is in the process of looking for sponsorships that could help defray that cost.

''You have to go for the dream, or it's going to pass you by,'' he said.

It's All Downhill From Here
While on the mountain, what goes up, must come down. Skiers and boarders. Chairlifts. Even those adrenaline rushes.Basically everything but the cost of lift tickets. Pinnacle Sports’ 2008 Ladies’ Day at Bear Creek

On January 15th Pinnacle Sports hosted its annual Ladies’ Day at Bear Creek Mountain, Macungie. The more than 35 women skiers and snowboarders enjoyed great snow and camaraderie! Participation for the 2008 day was the largest event yet!

Registration in which each lady received a pair Rossignol for the ladies’ Spring gloves and breakfast in the Grille  started the fabulous day. At Noon, all indulged in a wonderful lunch in the Grille, where the giveaways continued. Atomic donated a H80W boot and Leki donated a pair of Flair S Trigger  poles which were raffled. During the day, the ladies had two opportunities to gain extra ski advice from certified female Bear Creek instructors during two “Tip of the Day” sessions. After an amazing day on the snow, the women enjoyed Apre’ ski in The Grille. During Apre’, women discussed the gear they tried and shared stories from the day.

Throughout the day the ladies enjoyed a day filled with ski demos from Atomic, Elan, Line, Rossignol, and Volkl and snowboard demos from K2. The reps were on hand from the respective companies to answer the ladies’ questions and help with their demo selections. Pinnacle would like to thank the reps for their support and talents.

Pinnacle would also like to thank Mary, Andi and Cathy from the Bear Creek Snowsports School for conducting the “Tip of the Day” sessions.

Thank you, thank you , thank you to Bear Creek and Boston Concessions for hosting Pinnacle Sports’ Ladies Day. Ladies are excited for Pinnacle’s Ladies’ Day 2009!

Feedback from a Ladies’ Day participant:

Good morning,
I have to write and thank you for hosting a fabulous ladies’ ski day.  I was
invited to the event by a friend and must admit it was the highlight of my
winter.  Everything was so professional and friendly.  From the moment of
check, to the give aways, and food.  I have never demoed skis before, but it
was a wonderful experience and the help of the instructors on the mountain was
great.  You did no forget a thing!  Thanks again and I will see you next year.

There is always next year.

Dear Friends of Pinnacle,

On behalf of Pinnacle Sports, I would like to personally thank you all for your generous donations to our “Snow Out Cancer Charity Auction” benefiting the American Cancer Society Relay for Life on Sunday, November 4th in conjunction with the premier of Warren Miller’s 2007 Movie Playground at Bear Creek Mountain Resort.

With your help and the more than 275 snow enthusiasts in attendance, the “Snow Out Cancer Charity Auction” raised more than $6400 for the 2008 Relay for Life of Exeter Flying Dutchman Ski Club and the Baskets of Hope Teams.

The Relay for Life is the signature event of the American Cancer Society. It is their primary fundraising event held nationwide. The ACS has been fighting the battle against cancer providing grants to cancer researchers and assistance to cancer patients, survivors and their families since 1946.
